Groundhog’s day

My apple watch just announced that tomorrow is Groundhog's day. Feels like we've been playing that movie on repeat for almost a year now right??!!. Every day we experience some small variation of what we lived the day before. Some of us are happy and some of us, less so

Those who aren't happy are are waiting for the change; For that moment when we can be told we are allowed out and we can live again. We are WAITING because it is a narrative that is out of our realm of control. But what about all the things that are within our realm of control that we put on repeat and wonder why we aren't getting the results we want?

Like that white shirt with the stain on it that we've been washing with the same products expecting will one day miraculously disappear

or that strict pull-up we've been wanting to get for over 2 years now and haven't questioned if that elastic band actually helps

or those pants we've wanted to fit back into and haven't even though we've been eating salads and working out daily

What's great about us humans is that we can easily fall into a pattern of rinse, lather, repeat and be content. We are after all creatures of habit. But same old is also what stops us from getting to where we want to go. Rinse, lather, repeat is great for times when we are happy and want more of the same.

Repeat SHOULD ALWAYS BE QUESTIONED AND CHALLENGED when we want different results.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

Chances are if you google the same keywords day in and day out you will get the same first page of results. Alter your query every so slightly and it's amazing what you will discover. Change doesn't doesn't need to be this massive undertaking. The same applies for food and fitness. It's sometimes the smallest changes in our day to day that lead to the greatest of results. Not happy with something and want a different result? Go ahead and challenge your strategy. See what happens.
